As for your question about accountability, we should and will help keep people and organization accountable–as well as those who donate will and those receiving the funds will–or, at least, I hope. =)

I mean, so what if you have 40 or 10,000 twitter followers? So what if you’ve got a facebook group with 300 supporters? How does that matter, in the end? Does it get you social capital in the community? And what is that worth? Do more people see that you’re really doing the work you say you’re doing, and doing more all the time? Does it get you more donations?

The fact is, social media has to show ROI, just like every other kind of marketing, and it does.

I wrote a blog post on how you can make the case for using social media and what measurable impact it will have on your organization.

We DO accomplish what we hold ourselves accountable for.
The question is, who is holding our leaders accountable for fundraising?
